Desert Companion: Focus on Nevada Photo Showcase

This exhibition at Laughlin Library running June 28 – September 12, 2020 features photographs selected from over 1,200 submitted entries to the Seventh Annual Desert Companion Focus on Nevada Photo Contest. The photos, submitted by both amateur and professional photographers, represent the spirit of Nevada through images of desert landscape and wildlife, signature Las Vegas architecture, and the people who live and work here.

Doug Waterfield: Viva Las Vegas

This new exhibit at Centennial Hills Library is a collection of watercolor paintings featuring vintage Las Vegas signage from the Neon Museum Boneyard. Doug Waterfield, artist and the University of Nebraska at Kearney Professor of Art, sees the retired, faded, and rusting casino signs as reminders that life (and its pleasures) are temporal.
