Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District provides assistive equipment, services, and materials for individuals with disabilities and, upon request, will provide reasonable accommodation to ensure equal access to its programs, services, and activities.

ADA Coordinator

The Library District designates several individuals as ADA Coordinators who respond to inquiries and requests for accommodation within their departments.

To assist us in directing your inquiries to the appropriate department, please request reasonable accommodation or make other ADA-related inquiries to Administration at 702.507.4400 or email at administration@thelibrarydistrict.org. Please leave a detailed message including your name, contact information, and the nature of your request.

Adaptive Equipment

An ACE Workstation is available at the Clark County Library, opens a new window. A two-hour reservation may be made up to a week in advance, either in person or over the phone with a library card. Call 702.507.3421 and specify that you wish to make a reservation for the ACE or ADA computer.

Homebound Services

Homebound Services are available to patrons of the Library who, by medical necessity, are restricted to their homes on a long-term basis.

Library Materials

A variety of materials including audiobooks, DVDs, standard and large print materials are available for checkout from the Library Catalog.

Nevada Talking Book Services (NTBS)

Nevada Talking Book Services (NTBS) provides free, convenient audiobook and braille services for Nevadans who are unable to read standard print due to low vision, blindness, or a physical, perceptual, or reading disability. The service is completely free for users, who receive titles by downloading them and/or having the materials (on cartridges) mailed directly to and from their residence at no cost.

Books and players are mailed to and from our patrons postage free. The NTBS collection includes fiction and nonfiction audio books and magazines for all ages. Braille materials are also available through NTBS from the Utah State Library for the Blind and Disabled.

Public Computers

All public computers are equipped with:

  • Windows Narrator (screen reader)
  • Windows Magnifier (enlarges a portion of the screen)
  • Windows On-Screen Keyboard (select keys using a mouse or other pointing device)

Service Animals

Service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended, are welcome in all public libraries.

Sign Language Interpreters

Sign language interpreters may be scheduled. Please allow five business days to ensure availability. Please contact administration@thelibrarydistrict.org to make arrangements.
