Greetings to our Valued Library Customers:
There is nothing that brings me more joy than to walk into one of our 25 branches and see you enjoying the many books, movies, art gallery showings, live music and dance performances, educational classes, and career support services that our libraries have to offer. Our neighborhood libraries mean so much to the people who live there, providing a sense of community and a chance to pursue their dreams.
That is why it was with an especially heavy heart that I had to temporarily close our branches on March 16, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. It was done with your safety in mind, as well as the safety of our employees, volunteers, and community partners.
But did you know that our library never really closes? Our buildings may be temporarily closed to the public, but our online presence is available 24/7! We are working hard behind the scenes to provide you with multiple ways to stay connected and to access the educational and entertainment resources that you need, especially during this challenging time.
Here are a few ways that you can continue to connect with us:
- eCard – Our new eCard is perfect for those who haven’t yet had a chance to sign up for a library card, and would like to stream or download items from our website.
- YouTube – Our goal for our new “Virtual Anywhere” YouTube page is to provide kids and adults with lots of engaging content to keep you connected and learning. And be sure to check us out on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
- LVCCLD.org – Step into the library through our website, and you will be transported to a wonderful world of discovery! You will find all that our libraries offer and so much more, from career and job skills support to homework help to streaming and downloading eBooks, audiobooks, movies, music, TV shows, magazines, newspapers, and more! It’s your ultimate resource for homeschooling and At-Home entertainment.
