Desert Pines High School: Unexpected Memories

Unexpected Memories is a compilation of images photographed by the Advance Studies Photography Program led by Desert Pines High School teacher Javier Sanchez. The photographs represent the artists' relationships with friends, family, and personal/interpersonal spaces. With Unexpected Memories, the artists aim to lure viewers with familiar, everyday images and trigger recollections of autobiographical experiences.

The Photography program at Desert Pines H.S. provides beginning, intermediate, and advanced photography skills instruction for students to learn digital photographic techniques and processes applied to real world experiences. Students learn from the history of photography, appropriate use of technology and mechanical use of cameras, and legal and ethical issues related to the industry. The main goal of the Photography program at Desert Pines H.S. is to prepare students with the necessary skills needed to pursue a career within the field of photography.
