Permanent Art Collection

The District’s permanent art collection was started in 1974 with donations from local artists and library customers. Since that time, the collection has grown to over 400 works of art and become one of the most comprehensive collections of local art held by a public agency in Southern Nevada.

Representing both emerging and established local artists as well as internationally renowned artists, the pieces focus on a variety of techniques, show a range of mediums, and represent subject matter associated with the rich cultural backgrounds specific to the community served by the LVCCLD. The collection is proudly displayed throughout the District’s Branches.

Beginning May 2021, the District's permanent art collection will go on tour traveling to all of the Library District galleries, showcasing work that has rarely been accessed by the public. The tour will run through June 2024. The exact dates after December 2021 will be determined.
