New Partnership Highlights Libraries as Essential Resources for Literacy & Learning
LAS VEGAS (December 30, 2024) - The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District has teamed up with the Las Vegas Raiders to promote literacy and learning. This collaboration includes a special-edition library card, available starting Jan. 2, 2025, featuring the Las Vegas Raiders logo.
“We believe that Raiders’ pride will help to promote literacy and learning among those who may not be familiar with all that the library has to offer,” said Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Executive Director Kelvin Watson. "The Library District is thrilled to welcome the Las Vegas Raiders and their fans to our libraries, where they will find tools and resources for all backgrounds, and the opportunity to build skills in reading, research, and critical thinking. In a time when many resources have a price tag, libraries remain one of the few places where all are welcome, and everything is always free.”
Like all library cards, the new silver and black foil Las Vegas Raiders library card is free and will be available at all 25 Library District branches starting Jan. 2, 2025. To find your nearest library branch, visit the Library District’s Hours & Locations page. To get a free library card, simply bring a valid photo ID and proof of address (such as a driver’s license or utility bill) to the Customer Service Desk of any branch. With the Las Vegas Raiders library card, as well as all traditional library cards, you can check out physical items like books, CDs, DVDs, toys, and more, PLUS stream and download digital books, movies, music, magazines, and so much more!
“We are proud to partner with the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District on this campaign to encourage Southern Nevadans to utilize our public libraries while nurturing a love for reading,” said Piper Overstreet-White, senior vice president of government and community relations for the Las Vegas Raiders.
