Celebrating Our Inner Creator: The Library District Launches Maker March 2026

Explore, Design and Engineer with Free Live Workshops, Tech Training and 24/7 Access to DIY Resources All Year Long!

LAS VEGAS (February 28, 2026) –This March, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District celebrates the spirit of innovation with Maker March, a month-long initiative dedicated to exploring, making, designing and engineering. Throughout the month, customers of all ages can participate in a dynamic lineup of FREE hands-on workshops and technology training across the Library District’s 25 unique branches. 

Below is a curated list of highlight events for Maker March. All events are free and open to the public. Seating at some events is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Maker Fairs 2026 – See and explore the latest trends in arts, crafts and maker technology. These interactive fairs showcase a variety of creative tools and hands-on stations for all ages.
  • West Charleston Library Maker Fair: Wednesday, March 4, 3:30 p.m. at West Charleston Library
  • Teen Maker Fair: Thursday, March 26, 3 p.m. at Centennial Hills Library
  • West Las Vegas Library Maker Fair: Thursday, March 26, 3 p.m. at West Las Vegas Library

• High-Tech Training & Certification– Gain the skills needed to operate professional-grade equipment. Completion of these courses grants customers access to specialized creative spaces across the district.
  • 3D Printing Training (Tweens – Teens – Adults): Find a branch near you!

  • Take Better Photos on Your Cell Phone (Teens – Adult): Thursday, March 19, 3:00 p.m. at Rainbow Library
  • Digital Drawing (Tweens, Teens – Adults): Friday, March 20, 11:30 a.m. at Enterprise Library
  • Creating with Canva (Adults): Wednesday, March 25, 4:00 p.m. at Enterprise Library
    • Registration required and opens on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Music Production 101 for Teens (Teens): Every Tuesday, 3:00 p.m. at Clark County Library

• Fiber Arts & Fashion Design– From traditional needlecrafts to expressive garment customization, these workshops teach the art of construction.
  • Crochet Club (Kids – Teens – Adults – Seniors): Every Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. at Sunrise Library
  • In the Loop – A Fiber Arts Group (Teens – Adults): Sunday, March 15, 10:30 a.m. at Centennial Hills Library
  • Teen Tuesday – Maker Break Bags (Teens): Tuesday, March 17, 4:00 p.m. at Enterprise Library
  • Introduction to Machine Sewing and Safety – Ready, Set, Sew! (Adults): Saturday, March 14, 11 a.m. and Friday, March 27, 3:00 p.m. at West Las Vegas Library
    • Registration required and opens on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.

• STEAM Activities for Kids & Families – Makers can engage in science and engineering through playful challenges.
  • LEGO Club (Kids – Tweens – Teens – Adults): Every Tuesday in March, 4:00 p.m. at Sandy Valley Library

“Maker March allows our customers to move from being consumers of technology to being creators,” said Las Vegas-Clark County Executive Director Kelvin Watson. “Our Free to Be mission helps provide the tools, from 3D printers to sewing machines, that help Southern Nevadans turn their ideas into reality for FREE with their library card.”
