Celebrating Our Inner Creator: The Library District Launches Maker March 2026

Explore, Design and Engineer with Free Live Workshops, Tech Training and 24/7 Access to DIY Resources All Year Long!

LAS VEGAS (February 28, 2026) –This March, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District celebrates the spirit of innovation with Maker March, a month-long initiative dedicated to exploring, making, designing and engineering. Throughout the month, customers of all ages can participate in a dynamic lineup of FREE hands-on workshops and technology training across the Library District’s 25 unique branches

Below is a curated list of highlight events for Maker March. Visit the Library District’s 2026 Maker March page for a full list of events, certification courses and online learning resources like Creativebug, which offers hundreds of DIY projects 24/7 with your library card. All events are free and open to the public. Seating at some events is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

  • Maker Fairs 2026 – See and explore the latest trends in arts, crafts and maker technology. These interactive fairs showcase a variety of creative tools and hands-on stations for all ages.

 

  • High-Tech Training & Certification– Gain the skills needed to operate professional-grade equipment. Completion of these courses grants customers access to specialized creative spaces across the district.

 

 

  • STEAM Activities for Kids & Families – Makers can engage in science and engineering through playful challenges.
    • LEGO Club (Kids – Tweens – Teens – Adults): Every Tuesday in March, 4:00 p.m. at Sandy Valley Library
      • Full LEGO Club series information for participating branches available here.
    • Craft Stick Engineering Challenge (Grades K-12):Tuesday, March 3 and Saturday, March 21, 11:00 a.m. at Moapa Town Library
    • Come Out and Clay Jr. (Preschoolers – Kids): Saturday, March 14, 10:30 a.m. at Sunrise Library

 

“Maker March allows our customers to move from being consumers of technology to being creators,” said Las Vegas-Clark County Executive Director Kelvin Watson. “Our Free to Be mission helps provide the tools, from 3D printers to sewing machines, that help Southern Nevadans turn their ideas into reality for FREE with their library card.”
