Del Sol High School students in Drawing, Painting, AP Studio, Graphic Design, Ceramics and Art 1 have created works of art in reaction to social issues that impact the world in which we all live and our day-to-day realities. Young people are often perceived as self-centered, YouTube loving, phone addicts. However, the students of Del Sol demonstrate through their art that they care deeply about the issues that affect their family, friends, and community. They show that their generation is aware of the societal ills they will inherit, that they deal with them daily and that they strive to be a part of the solution. The mission of this exhibit is to allow students a platform to advance from consuming observers to participating creators. Through art, students are empowered to speak up and be heard.
