Using a variety of media such as charcoal, acrylic, graphite, and digital; Orbis creates art that expresses life's challenges and rewards.
Artist Statement
The goal of my art is to draw attention to the unseen, of what is ever-present and possible. I want to highlight the possibility of fully accessing joy and living in the moment, even through uncertainty or struggle. I seek to share this joy and light through my art.
These portrait and landscape works reflect significant moments in my life. I hope viewers can sense the experiences I’m sharing in my art and that it resonates with them, or that they can, at least, enjoy my depiction of light in contrast to defeat and heaviness. This exhibit also serves to address my own healing journey. It is an encapsulation of what it means to be a shapeshifter, nonlinear, unconventional, and complicated; yet also simply and beautifully human. The art is comprised of many stories, emotional imagery, and a loving acceptance.
