Reframing the Mundane: The process of rewiring one’s approaches to navigating through the trials and tribulations of life in a graceful, gentle, and creative way. This process has informed the artwork in this exhibition.
Artist Statement
Innate curiosity, disciplined inquiry, and childlike wonder blend into a rigorous and ritualistic exploration of life that informs my work. Presently, I'm dedicated to defining my artistic perspectives by infusing paintable surfaces with the kinetic essence of martial arts-inspired motions. Tai chi has been an integral part of my life for nearly two decades, permeating every aspect of my being and significantly influencing my artistic journey. The diverse influences of Professor Anthony Mulholland, Hung Liu, Kehinde Wiley, Diego Rivera, Morihei Ueshiba, and Vermeer all significantly shape my perspectives, methodology, and studio practice.
