Artist Statement
Desert and high desert landscape has always held fascination for me – how spaces with little or no precipitation can still produce plants and flowers of virtually every color of the rainbow. The red orange, yellow and gold of the sunsets and sandy earth, the stark contrast of red and green resulting in perfect complementary colors while painting. The beauty is all around us if we take a few moments to travel outside the city to discover it.
