Black and White photography strips away color, highlighting contrast, texture, and light to create a more focused and timeless image. Its simplicity often evokes deeper emotion and allows viewers to connect with the subject on a more personal level, free from the distractions of color.
Women In Focus is a non-profit artist-initiated organization of women photographers who have joined together to support and promote the photographic arts.
Founded in 1993 in Atlanta, GA, by a group of women who recognized the need for a formal network of women photographers who could assist in each others' personal, professional, and artistic growth, Women In Focus has become a thriving organization whose diverse membership includes photographic artists ranging from beginners to seasoned professionals, all brought together by their passion for photography. There are currently branches in Atlanta, Chicago, St. Louis, as well as here in Las Vegas.
Women In Focus values each individual member for the unique contributions that she brings to the organization and strives to provide all members with the resources that they need to thrive as artists. Women In Focus is dedicated to facilitating a forum for open dialogue regarding photography in all of its forms.
