Manny Perez’s recent work investigates the 'Third Space', a psychological and cultural site where his Puerto Rican heritage, his family’s Korean roots, and their life in the American desert converge. By merging traditional oil painting with 3D-modeled sculptural elements, he creates a hybrid visual language that reflects the complexity of a multi-cultural existence. These works move beyond mere 'representation' to create a new, lived mythology where the cosmic, the domestic, and the ancestral coexist on a single plane.
Manny Perez is a visual artist, as well as an art educator based in Las Vegas. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University and his Master of Fine Arts from University of Nevada Reno. Recent exhibits include Wiley Coyotes at the West Charleston Library Gallery, VS Wrestling Art at The Studio @ Sahara West Library, the Desert Biennial Project, and Inheritance at The Holman Garage Door Gallery at UNR. He is also being featured in the next issue of Sculpturalist.
