Photography is a medium most of us are familiar with. We pick up our cameras or our phones and click; capturing a person, place, or moment in time. Kevin Buckley enjoys giving that routine a twist.
When he sees a photograph, he likes to imagine it beyond the context that’s given. He takes images from their original situations and creates new dimensions. The technique is commonly classified as collage, but Buckley calls it storytelling.
The clipped images are sourced from as far away as the other side of the world, to as close as the artist’s backyard. Buckley’s intent is to reimagine the mundane with a more evocative and dramatic story.
Kevin Buckley earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Notre Dame University and a Master of Arts from Cardinal Stritch University. Working for many years in aesthetic, industrial, and chemical system design, he has always been drawn back to his love and passion for fine art. He has previous exhibited at the Milwaukee Art Center, WI; Snite Museum of Art, I; and at many Las Vegas venues including City Hall.
