Kenny James: The Hidden World Around Us

I am an oil, acrylic, watercolor painter and wood block printer. For me, shooting infrared photography is another extension of painting with the exception of working with digital software tools, and bringing out rays of color that are hidden from the naked eye. Depending of the type of light during the day and temperature, you almost never know what kind of color you will get, and certain software tools really enhance this invisible light and colors. -- Kenny James.

ARTIST STATEMENT:

Kenny James is a singer, musician, and entertainer whose creative world is enriched by the vibrant community of performers and artists around him. Alongside his music career, he explores the visual arts through painting and photography. Acrylics are his medium of choice for their immediacy and adaptability to his touring lifestyle, though he also enjoys working in oils.

James’ other passion is infrared photography, which he describes as “magical” and a glimpse into a “hidden world.” His work spans subjects from music-inspired imagery to landscapes and abstract compositions, always guided by curiosity and a love of discovery. Whether on stage or behind the canvas and camera, James brings a sense of rhythm, color, and wonder to everything he creates.
