Faith Lutheran MS & HS: The Breadth and Depth of Faith

Faith Lutheran Middle School and High School is the largest Lutheran secondary school in the United States. There are approximately 2,000 students at FLHS with a 30% enrollment of minorities and a 1:17 ratio of teacher to students. FL has five Visual Arts Department teachers. The middle school offers 6th Grade Exploratory Art and 7th/8th Grade Art. The high school offers Drawing & Painting, Studio Art, Printmaking, AP 2D Design, AP Drawing, Sculpture, Ceramics, Digital Photography, Dark Room Photography and Graphic Design. Faith Lutheran offers considerable financial aid to ensure as many students as possible benefit from private arts education.

Art students post their work to Artsonia (an online art portfolio) and AP Art students maintain a Wix website with the body of their artwork. They have active NJAHS & NAHS clubs, with about 50 members in each. FLHS has a Visual Art Conservatory program where students have to be enrolled in 2 art classes each semester, maintain a B or better in those classes, draw a summer sketchbook each year and create quarterly projects after they compete for a spot in the program. Students who successfully complete this all four years, graduate with Visual Arts Honors.

This exhibit, The Breadth and Depth of Faith, is a selection of works made between 2024 and 2025 from each of the visual arts courses taught at Faith Lutheran. It represents works created in grades 6-12 from beginning middle school students through the college level AP art course.
