Artist Statement:
As an artist, I have created many paintings in color. However, I sometimes like to return to drawing using only black, white, and gray. Through charcoal, important fundamentals such as composition, perspective, texture, and expressive character can be explored more deeply. These drawing studies not only help me revisit and strengthen the foundations of art, but also stand on their own as finished works with their own unique beauty.
