Studies In Melt explores impermanence through a universally recognizable form - the ice cream cone. Arranged in four-panel grids inspired by the visual language of Pop Art, particularly the serial compositions popularized by Andy Warhol, the work uses repetition and bold color fields to elevate an everyday object into a subject of reflection. Each cone exists in a different state of transformation: upright and dripping, collapsed, spilled and still holding shape.
The bright backgrounds contrast the quiet inevitability of melting. What appears playful at first glance becomes a study in time, pressure, and surrender. Ice cream is temporary by nature, meant to be enjoyed before it dissolves. Here, melting becomes metaphor: for change, emotional states, identity and the fleeting nature of stability.
Rendered in saturated acrylic with graphic outlines, the pieces embraces pop aesthetics while inviting deeper contemplation. The melt is not destruction, it is process. - ASØN
