African American Collection
The African American Special Collection consists of specialized materials by and about African Americans. The focus of the collection is on the African American experience in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the West. The majority of the collection consists of books that focus on history and culture. The collection has historical and relevant materials that are frequently updated.
The contents of the African American Collection were developed under a Library Services and Technology Act grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, through the Nevada State Library and Archives. However, the contents do not necessarily represent the policy of the Nevada State Library and Archives and there is no implicit endorsement by the state or federal government.
