LAS VEGAS (October 30, 2025) – The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District is celebrating Native American Heritage Month in November with a range of FREE events for the entire community! All ages are invited to enjoy live music and dance performances, storytelling, and hands-on craft classes at our branches. Plus, use your library card to access recommended books, movies, music, and more resources.
“November is a vital time to honor the history, artistry and enduring resilience of Indigenous cultures across our continent and the world,” said Las Vegas-Clark County Executive Director Kelvin Watson. “The Library District is proud to celebrate the rich diversity of Native American communities, from storytelling traditions to contemporary political voices. We invite the community to join us in learning more about the original stewards of this land and their ongoing contributions through our extensive programs and resources.”

Thursday, November 13, 6:30 p.m., Windmill Library Intertribal Dance with Derrick Suwaima Davis and Sooya Davis (Adults) - In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, Derrick Suwaima Davis (Hopi/Choctaw) and Sooya Davis (Hopi/Choctaw) will share insight into the Hopi culture with words, music, and dance.
Saturday, November 15, 3:00 p.m., West Charleston Library Sunday, November 16, 3:00 p.m., Summerlin Library We Dance In Spirit - A Boarding School Remembrance (Adults) - Attendees will enjoy a powerful and meaningful afternoon of live dance performances by members of our local tribes, who will share the stories and significance of each dance style

Saturday, November 22, 2:00 p.m., Sahara West Library Saturday, November 22, 7:00 p.m., West Charleston Library Sounds and Songs of Ancient Mesoamerica (Teens – Adults) – Attendees will step into the heart of Mesoamerica in celebration of Native American Heritage month and experience rare and evocative instruments in a performance that illuminates the cultural richness of Mesoamerican music.
Thursday, November 20, 12:00 p.m., West Charleston Library Native American Heritage Month Movie: Indian Horse (Adults) – The Library District invites the community to celebrate Native American Heritage Month with a special screening of Indian Horse (2017) in the West Charleston Library Lecture Hall.
