The Library District Foundation would like to give a shout out to Gordon Warren for his very generous donation of 496 volumes of World and American History books! Mr. Warren holds a Ph.D in History and American Studies and began his career as a history professor at multiple universities in North Carolina, Ohio, Illinois, and Washington. Over the years he amassed a huge collection of history books which he has now passed on to the Foundation. After teaching for over 10 years, Mr. Warren enrolled in the University of Oregon law school and practiced law for 26 years in Seattle and Las Vegas. Although he switched careers, Mr. Gordon told us "I never lost my interest in history, which constitutes my main reading interest, as reflected in my book donation."
Gordon's collection is featured at our Sahara West Library book store and contains titles such as The Pentagon Papers, The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln, Indian Tribes of North America, and much, much more. There is even a seven volume, first edition printing of The Army Air Forces in World War II. So all you history buffs, stop by the book store inside the Sahara West library and see what treasures you will find.
