
Read, Have Fun & Earn Cool Prizes!
LAS VEGAS (December 30, 2025) – The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District invites you to step into a world of enchantment with the annual Winter Reading Challenge in 2026. This magical event encourages kids, teens, and adults to cozy up with their favorite reads for a month of epic reading. With FREE access to thousands of books, audiobooks, and graphic novels available in branches and online at TheLibraryDistrict.org, readers of all ages can begin their literary quest today. The world of entertainment, learning, and fantastic prizes is accessible just by reading whatever you like!
Here’s how it works:
- Register Today & Start Reading: Registration is now open at TheLibraryDistrict.beanstack.org, opens a new window. Everyone who registers for the Winter Reading Challenge will receive one Bookstore Buck, redeemable for one item from our Library District bookstores, excluding Library District branded merchandise. Book Bucks will be distributed starting Jan. 2.
- Babies, kids, teens and adults are challenged to read or be read to for at least 5 hours (300 minutes) during the month of January 2026. Track your progress on TheLibraryDistrict.beanstack.org, opens a new window or on a printable bookmark log, which are available in English and Spanish at any one of the 25 Las Vegas-Clark County Library District branches.
- Everyone is a winner! Kids, teens, and adults who complete the challenge and turn in their logs by Jan. 31, 2026, will receive an age-appropriate prize, while supplies last. Even babies can join in by being read to for 5 hours. Adults who complete the Winter Reading Challenge will receive a 2026 pocket calendar.
- Celebrate at WinterFest and Enter to Win! Attend one of the WinterFest events and turn in your completed log and enter to win. Prizes include a gift basket, tickets to Flip 'n' Out Xtreme, or Library District branded swag. Find a WinterFest near you on our Events Calendar.
"Winter Reading Challenge is a core part of the Library District’s mission to promote literacy for Southern Nevadans of all ages,” said Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Executive Director Kelvin Watson. “With early registration and fantastic prizes, we are making it easier and more convenient than ever for families and individuals to connect with the incredible resources available at their local library.”
