This exhibit showcases the eastern calligraphy and artwork of members of Yeowool Calligraphy Academy. Yeowool has been teaching calligraphy classes at Lieburn Senior Center since 2019, and her dedicated students have been producing fine works. Along with Yeowool’s work, 10 members will be exhibiting their calligraphy and art.
Yeo Wool, pen name for Kyeong Bun Cho, has been producing calligraphic writing and Eastern art since 2008. Since she was young, she loved calligraphy, and she was determined to become a calligraphic artist.
Born and raised in Korea, she immigrated to the United States with her husband and children in 1988, and worked with her husband in the family business. She also worked as an audio editor and producer at a local Korean radio station in San Diego. Upon her retirement in 2008, she began her calligraphy with lessons from a famous Korean calligraphy teacher. Since then, she has had four exhibits and continues to share her lessons with others.
