Terdpong Prangkuljaroenkit: Living Rocks

In this exhibition, I present a series of acrylic paintings on naturally found stones—works I call living rocks. Each piece begins as an overlooked fragment of the landscape, a quiet and unassuming object shaped by time. Through bold color, expressive detail, and imaginative transformation, these stones evolve into characters infused with presence, emotion, and story.

My practice is rooted in a deep connection to nature and a fascination with the tension between permanence and change. A rock is often seen as lifeless, fixed, and ordinary. Yet, through the creative process, it becomes something entirely new—animated, spirited, and full of possibility. This transformation reflects my own artistic journey: taking what is simple and unvalued and revealing its hidden vitality.

These works celebrate the power of imagination to reshape the familiar. Each stone becomes a moment of wonder, a reminder that creativity can breathe life into even the most humble materials. Together, they invite viewers to reconsider what they see, what they overlook, and what beauty might be waiting inside the quietest corners of the natural world.
