Ralph Megginson: Musicians & Athletes

Ralph Megginson is a figurative artist from Lansing, Michigan who now resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. He especially enjoys drawing and painting sport and music imagery, among other subjects.

Megginson started drawing as a child after seeing his mother doodling. Before focusing on sports imagery, the artist used to draw from photos of animals that he'd find in his grandmother's encyclopedias. In the first grade, he began drawing flowers on cards for sick faculty and students.  Continuing to draw throughout his youth, Megginson received scholarships to arts academies and took college courses starting in the eighth grade from Michigan State University and Interlochen National Music Camp and Arts Academy. He attended a year in Illustration at Kendall School of Design before graduating from Western Michigan University with a major in painting.
