Teachers in Libraries
Live Tutoring in Library Branches for the 2021-22 School Year
The Library Foundation is excited to announce that our teacher tutors will be back in the libraries and ready to help with your homework on September 7, 2021. This free service is supported by generous grant funding from Windsong Trust, MGM Resorts International, Las Vegas Raiders Foundation, and NV Energy Foundation.
Our UNLV student tutors will begin their tutoring on September 13, 2021.
This drop-in service is available weekdays and weekends to help any student in grades K-12 complete their homework or get some extra instruction in a variety of subjects. In many locations, tutors are bilingual and can work with parents and caregivers for whom English is not their first language, teaching them ways to assist with their child’s online learning requirements. Call your favorite branch for more information on days and times that these tutors are available.
Homework help has been identified as the highest priority need by local parents, teachers, and community leaders. CCSD teacher tutors and America Reads/America Counts UNLV students provide over 15,000 hours of homework help to students from over 250 local schools at 13 library branch locations in the Vegas Valley.
