The Foundation sponsors Engineering for Kids workshops and camps over Winter Break, Spring Break, and the summer. These workshops provide youth with fun projects that increase their knowledge of science and engineering and introduce them to possible career paths in various STEAM fields. This program align with the Library District's long-term goal of accelerating the development of youth STEAM skills, making them college- and career-ready. By providing this critical youth-driven learning and project based learning the Foundation is getting children interested in STEAM topics and showing them career paths that may have been unknown to them previously. This program also builds capacity in the Library District to give youth access to STEAM technology that is not available to them at home or at school. This program is generously sponsored by Cox Communications and NV Energy.
