This exhibit is a showcase for teens across the Vegas valley to share their recent experiences. It was hard enough for adults to cope with the global pandemic, but imagine being a teenager while the world seems to be falling apart around you. Already situated between being not quite an adult and no longer a child, the increased feeling of pandemic isolation struck our youth hard. They grappled with how to make sense all that was going on and how it would impact their future. Milestones and experiences that our culture often views as quintessentially linked to adolescence, were now suddenly out of reach for these youth.
But that's the thing about teens, they are rebellious by nature. Their indomitable spirits push through and bring hope for the generations that come before them by showing us that maybe we should try a different perspective. The art in this exhibit offers us that inspirational perspective using a variety of mediums including photography, digital drawing on Clip Studio, pencil, paint, and scratch art. This collection is full of humor, anger, joy, sorrow, and even some K-Pop love.
