Ronaldo Dizon: Thoughts on the River Nile

The allure of sailing the Nile River between the ageless Egyptian cities of Giza, Luxor, and Aswan is a timeless exploration of imagination when photographing the eternal Karnak Temple Complex, the legendary Valley of the Kings, the mesmerizing Hatshepsut Temple, the unique Kom Ombo Temple, the majestic Philae Temple, and the celebrated wonders of the Giza Plateau, the pyramids of o Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, and the Great Sphinx.

Viewing the array of the Nile's ancient treasures gives thought to those fortunate to sail its tributary of the yet-to-be-discovered hidden mysteries offered by the River Nile. Images in this exhibit arrest the impermanence of time for its impending river guests.

Artist Statement

The allure of world travel creates a photographic wanderlust of imagination with infinite insight into the intrinsic attributes that make us human. My photographs are signposts in life's nostalgic journey of memories. The personal collection of images in this exhibition and on my Cloud 9 (www.johnnyczar.com) reflects those unique places my wife and I were fortunate enough to visit, the friendships we fostered, and the momentary associations we left behind.

They represent the impermanence of time and capture the fleeting moments that will never be again.

My photographs offer my contribution to that vision.
