Meet the EmployNV Business Services Ambassadors

It’s Official!

The EmployNV Business Hub is “open for businesses,"
inside Sahara West Library.

The new EmployNV Business Hub offers support, guidance, training and financial services to local employers and small businesses. This 2,650 square foot, state of the art facility is focused on the needs of employers, providing free training, resources, and referrals. It is located inside the Sahara West Library at 9600 West Sahara Ave., directly next to the Art Gallery.

Among the workforce development staff stationed at the business hub are two “Business Services Ambassadors,” Janae Cooley and Elizabeth McDaniels

The ambassadors are the “concierges” to all of the free services available through the business hub and the public workforce development system.

We encourage you to reach out to Janae or Elizabeth at (702) 780-8255 or their direct emails, below, to find out how the EmployNV Business Hub can help your business recover and grow.

Meet the Ambassadors

Elizabeth McDaniels (Bilingual/Spanish)

Elizabeth has an extensive background in workforce development, marketing, and helping small businesses thrive.

During the great recession, Elizabeth led mission services for Goodwill of Southern Nevada. Under her leadership, the agency fostered partnerships with the business community that led to record-breaking years of job placements, despite the economic downturn.

She has also held positions with the Modesto Junior College Workforce Training Center in California as well as a Las Vegas-based communications agency, allowing her to mix her passion for workforce development with marketing.

She legally migrated to the United States with her family when she was a small child and often traveled from state to state following the crop seasons. Much of Elizabeth’s career has been in workforce development, helping people overcome barriers similar to those she overcame herself.

Q&A

Janae and Elizabeth shared with us how the community is responding to the new EmployNV Business Hub and how it can help businesses during this challenging time.

How do you help local businesses during this pandemic period and beyond?

Elizabeth:  There are many businesses struggling to stay open or recover. Our goal is to be a one-stop location where businesses can seek guidance or resources to help them reboot and grow.  We are here to make the necessary connections that can move local businesses forward.

Janae:  In fact, oftentimes there are resources for employers that aren't utilized simply because employers don’t know those resources exist. We can help put them in touch with the help that they need.

What should businesses know about the services that you offer?

Janae:  Businesses should know that the EmployNV Business Hub connects employers to all of the resources available through the public workforce development system. The business hub is a result of partnerships between Workforce Connections (Southern Nevada’s Local Workforce Development Board), the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR), Nevada's Department of Business and Industry, and other agencies. Because of the wide scope of services provided through our partners, we can get you connected.

Elizabeth:  Plus, these services are offered at no cost to the business! So if you are wondering if we can help you, please pick up the phone and give us a call or send us an email  Our network is your network.

What has the response been so far to this new service?

Janae:  We have received such a positive response from the community! Since our recent opening, Elizabeth and I have spoken with quite a few entrepreneurs and employers and been able to guide them to resources to help meet their needs.

Elizabeth:  It is very exciting to see the relief and excitement from someone who dreams of starting their own business, or an existing business owner who is navigating these challenging times, when they realize they are not alone. That’s why we are here.
