Best Buy Expands Support for Teen Tech Center With New Donations

Best Buy and the Clubhouse Network are doubling down on their support for the Best Buy Teen Tech Center located inside Clark County Library amidst the COVID-19 pandemic with three new donations totaling $55,000. The funds are designated for programs that will ensure that teens have access to the latest technology, a Safe Center for Online Learning and for general operating funds to help teens and their families during the economic downturn. Gail Breslow, Executive Director of the Clubhouse Network explained, “General operating funds can be used where most needed, including rent or mortgage payments, utilities, administrative costs, staff salaries, or other.” The Best Buy Teen Tech Center at Clark County Library has used a majority of  the funds to purchase new technology to keep up with the rapidly changing STEM environment.  The center also offers early hours for teens to complete schoolwork while using the technology in the center to enhance their projects and homework assignments.

Through a partnership with EveryoneOn, Best Buy is also offering wireless hotspots for youth and families. Each hotspot has three months of unlimited service included. A donation from Adobe provides the full Creative Cloud suite of software for any Teen Tech Center youth age 13+. All apps and software for Windows/Mac, tablet, and mobile are included.

Hours of operation for the Best Buy Teen Tech Center inside the Clark County Library are:

Monday — Thursday: 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
